Bus Routes

If your student will need school bus service, complete the transportation request survey.

Each student has a unique survey link, sent directly to the custody contacts or primary contacts that are on file.

The survey will allow you to:

• View your child’s projected school for the 2025-2026 school year
• View and confirm the home address on file
• Indicate whether transportation is needed

Please note: Completing this survey is the first step in determining transportation eligibility. Completion of the survey does not guarantee transportation eligibility. After you submit your request, the HISD Transportation team will review it and follow up with one of the following:

• A confirmation if your student qualifies for transportation, or
• A message explaining why your student is not currently eligible.

Thank you for helping us plan safe, reliable transportation for the new school year.

If the student moves, the parent/guardian will need to provide identification and proof of residency for the new address.

TWO of the following will be acceptable as proof of residency:

• Original and current utility bill (only electric, water, or gas)
• Original and current lease with the child and parent's name listed including signature page
• Additional mail addressed to the parent and received at the address MAY be required.

If the parent/guardian or student are not listed on the deed, lease or bill, and/or reside with someone else, the documents listed above along with the following will be acceptable as proof of residency:

• The resident will need to provide identification and be present at time of address change
• Statement of Residency Affidavit
• Falsification of Information Form
• Resident must submit a letter detailing the names of all individuals residing at the address along with the time period that they will be living at the residence

Change of Address documents must be provided in person.
