Hi Sharpstown, Students, Staff, Families, and Community,

I hope everyone has been enjoying a well-deserved and restful summer break! While many have been recharging, our Sharpstown team has been hard at work meeting, planning, and preparing for an exceptional school year. We are committed to ensuring that the 2026–2027 school year is one of the most impactful years in Sharpstown High School's history.

This year, our theme is "Be Sharp."

Be Sharp means being prepared, focused, professional, and committed to excellence every single day. It means arriving on time, being ready to learn, supporting one another, and taking pride in representing Sharpstown High School both inside and outside the classroom. Together, we will sharpen our minds, strengthen our character, and continue building a culture of excellence.

Important Back-to-School Information

👩‍🏫 Staff Return

Our amazing staff will officially report back for the 2026–2027 school year on Thursday, July 30, 2026, as we begin another exciting year of serving our students with excellence. Upon arrival, staff should report to the main office and sign in no later than 8:05 AM.

🎓 Student Orientation Week

Student orientations are an important part of preparing for a successful school year. During orientation, students will:

• Meet their Assistant Principal and Counselor
• Receive their class schedules
• Take their school ID photos
• Learn important campus expectations
• Prepare for a successful first day of school

Orientation Schedule

Wednesday, August 5

• Incoming 9th Grade Students
• 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Thursday, August 6

• 10th & 11th Grade Students
• 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Friday, August 7

• 12th Grade Students
• 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

All students are expected to attend their assigned orientation.

📚 First Day of School

The first day of school is Monday, August 10, 2026.

Students should arrive on campus by 8:15 AM, as classes begin promptly at 8:30 AM.

Attendance Matters

This school year, we will implement a strict tardy policy because every minute of instruction matters. Students who arrive on time are better prepared to learn, engage, and succeed. At Sharpstown, we believe that high-quality instruction is the foundation of student achievement, and maximizing instructional time is essential to preparing our students for college, careers, and life.

Dress for Success

Our dress code will also be strictly enforced throughout the school year.

As we prepare tomorrow's leaders, we want every Apollo to present themselves with pride and professionalism. The way you present yourself reflects your confidence, your character, and your commitment to excellence.

Personal Electronic Devices Prohibited During the School Day Dear Apollo Families, To provide every student with a focused, safe, and distraction-free learning environment, students may not use personal electronic devices during the instructional day. This includes, but is not limited to: Cell phones, smart watches, and other personal communication devices Headphones, earbuds, and speakers Tablets, personal laptops, and smart notebooks Smart glasses, cameras, and video recorders Gaming devices and other personal electronic devices Devices must be powered off and stored in a student's backpack or personal bag from the time students arrive on campus until the end of the instructional day, including lunch and passing periods. Only district-issued devices may be used for instruction unless a student has approved medical or educational accommodation.  Please review the attached flyer with your student before the first day of school.
